I installed the new Visual Studio 2019, but it is much slower (at least in my machine) than the 2017 version, and working is getting very frustrating. I want to get back but I can't find where to download the previous version.

I was having the same issue (even with Dev essentials and I didnt have the option to download vs 2017 community, but 2017 professional instead), then I finally tried downloading the professional version (Then I just cancelled at the moment it asks which components) and suddenly it unlocks the 2017 community install in the visual studio installer hub.

In this step by step tutorial, we guide you to How to Download and Install Visual Studio 2017. The installation of Visual Studio 2017 has become much simpler, compared to its previous editions. You can choose the component that you wish to download and install. Visual Studio 2017 allows you to run different versions of Visual Studio side-by-side.
I would like to download VS 2017 with command line enabled in installer because I am afraid MS will soon pull the plug out and I will be left with scenario "upgrade computer, buy new smartphone, etc".
So far I managed to download VS 2017 from non-MS site, GUI installer works, etc. The problem is, this is basically one time installation, and I would like to download all the files, makes a backup. And in order to download anything from MS I need new VS 2017 installer (to be able to work from command-line).
So I tried -downloads/ MS page with link to older version. This page requires me to log in into my account (I tried my two accounts), on one, I got nothing ("you have no benefits"), using my other account I got the links, but only two Professional version of VS 2017.
Update: finally I got access to the Dev Essential program and I can see VS 2017 Community download button, but it seems the download itself is redirected in all cases to VS 2019. Those two links should give two different installers, but the effect is exactly the same:
We are using the stand-alone installer of SSDT 2017, which can be downloaded from here. It downloads a file named SSDT-Setup-ENU.exe. Once it is downloaded, double-click on it to begin the installation.
If you have a visual studio subscription, you can sign in to the Visual Studio account. You can create a new visual studio account by clicking on Create one link. We do not have the visual studio subscriptions, so click on Not now, maybe later link.
An IDE is a robust tool for writing, editing, debugging, and running your code. A text editor only lets you write and edit your code. You might have to step out of a text editor to run your code or download plugins to help it do the running for you.
Themes are switchable skins that let you configure the color scheme and font for your Visual Studio editor. The marketplace currently has over 5000 themes available and covers both Visual Studio 2019 and Visual Studio Code, each created to visually optimize how code is displayed. This is done through pre-configurations of how functions, modules, classes, and parts of code are colored.
MonokaiVS theme merges two popular themes together to form one epic theme. One Monokai takes the best bits from One Dark theme and color principles from Monokai to visually optimize the code output on Visual Studio.
If you can access the Visual Studio Marketplace from Visual Studio, you can download and install Veracode Static for Visual Studio from within the IDE. For example, in Visual Studio 2019, you can select Extensions > Manage Extensions. Then, search for Veracode to see the list of Veracode extensions available for your version of Visual Studio.
"We are excited to share the recent release for VSCode Azure Data Lake Tools, a cross-platform code editor to allow you easily to author and submit U-SQL file to Azure Data Lake Analytics (ADLA)," said Jenny Jiang, principal program manager, Big Data Team, in a blog post last week. "We have greatly improved the getting started experience, enhanced usability of the tools, and improved the integration with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS). The ADLS integration allows you to easily preview files, list storage paths, and download or upload files with exceptional performance."

Opened a bluprint project and tried source code to vs 2017 but did not change anything. I will try uninstall vs 2017 and reinstall again. Also already installed everything include UE installer under game programming.
Don't use Visual Studio to re-build after you have netloaded "myapp.dll". You will get the error "..being used by another process". Autocad has it. The NRL utility handles the re-build and re-load of the modified visual studio project.
I did not find any replacement for this utility, so I decided to roll with it.It was posted in 2011, and in 2018 I still got it to work with Visual Studio 2017 and AutoCAD 2019!The .dll did not work, so I compiled the source code in VS2017. In order to compile I had to go under the Solution Explorer, right-clicked References, and Add References. Searched for EnvDTE, and System.Windows.Forms; added these to the project. VS2017 had some of these references removed for faster boot.
Then I compiled the Netreload .dll, loaded it in AutoCAD with NETLOAD, typed NRL to select your open instance of visual studio and loaded my .dll in development. Remember that if you attempt to reload a .dll with repeated CommandMethod names, you will get an eDuplicateKey error, and the "reload" won't work.
The source code for Cetus is located in the /src/ directory of your download version. Several options are provided to compile Cetus, these are provided in the Cetus release notes, and will be made available via the manual that is under development. One of the most important issues to look out for is the java classpath environment variable. While using each of the build scripts provided with the download, please ensure that you are setting the environment variables correctly to point to the locations that contain the libraries. This tutorial on Oracle is a good resource to learn more about PATH and CLASSPATH variables and how to set them.
